Oticon Zeal
Oticon Zeal is a discreet, rechargeable in-the-ear hearing aid with AI sound processing, Bluetooth connectivity, and all-day battery life.
For a long time, people looking for a discreet hearing aid had to accept a trade-off — smaller size often meant giving up features like rechargeability, wireless connectivity, or strong performance in noisy environments. Oticon Zeal changes that. We're pleased to offer this new in-the-ear hearing aid at All About Hearing, and it represents one of the more meaningful advances we've seen in this style of device.
What Is the Oticon Zeal?
Oticon Zeal is an in-the-ear hearing aid designed to sit discreetly in the ear canal, with a small antenna that wraps around the outer ear for a secure fit and reliable connectivity. Its design uses a first-of-its-kind encapsulation technology that seals all internal components in a solid, moisture-resistant structure (IP68). The result is a compact device that is more durable than traditional in-canal aids, without sacrificing performance.
At its core, Zeal runs on Oticon's Sirius™ chipset — the same platform that powers their top-tier devices — paired with second-generation Deep Neural Network (DNN 2.0) processing. This AI-driven system runs continuously throughout the day, working to separate speech from background noise and give your brain access to a full, balanced sound scene. Oticon refers to this approach as BrainHearing™ technology, which is built around the idea that clear hearing starts with giving the brain the information it needs to process sound naturally.
Key Features of Oticon Zeal
Oticon Zeal brings together a range of features that have not previously been available in a hearing aid this size:
- Discreet, nearly invisible fit — Zeal sits fully in the ear and is not visible, or only slightly visible, in the vast majority of fittings
- Second-generation AI sound processing (DNN 2.0) — always on, proven to deliver up to 6 dB improvement in speech-to-noise ratio
- Rechargeable lithium-ion battery — up to 20 hours of battery life per charge, with a 15-minute quick charge providing 4 hours of use
- Bluetooth LE Audio connectivity — streams directly from smartphones (iOS and Android), tablets, TVs, PCs, and Apple Watch®
- Auracast™ support — allows connection to compatible broadcast audio in public venues such as theaters and airports
- Same-day fitting option — can be fitted with a dome on the first visit, with the option to move to a custom micro mold if needed
- IP68 moisture resistance — encapsulation technology protects internal components from moisture and mechanical wear
Who Is Oticon Zeal For?
Zeal is designed for adults with mild to moderately severe hearing loss who want a discreet, fully featured device. It fits binaurally with a dome in approximately two out of three people, making it suitable for a wide range of ear canal shapes without requiring a custom impression at the outset.
It tends to be a strong fit for people who have avoided hearing aids due to concerns about appearance, as well as those who want a device that works reliably with their phone and other technology. The same-day fitting option is also practical for patients with busy schedules who would prefer not to wait for a custom-made device.
How We Fit Oticon Zeal at All About Hearing
Fitting any hearing aid well goes beyond selecting the right model. At our Midland clinic, our doctors of audiology take a thorough approach to every fitting. This includes a comprehensive hearing evaluation and real-ear measurements to verify that your hearing aids are programmed accurately for your specific hearing profile. Real-ear measurements allow us to confirm that what the hearing aid is delivering matches what your ears actually need — something that is often skipped in less thorough fitting processes, but that we consider a standard part of our care.
